Woodhouse SL Victory Highlights Day 1 of Harvard Carnival

WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. & CRAFTSBURY, Vt. – Emma Woodhouse (Collingwood, Ontario) raced to her first career EISA victory in Friday's slalom at Waterville Valley to power the University of New Hampshire ski team to fourth place on Day 1 of the season-opening Harvard Carnival.
With 347 points, UNH is in fourth place halfway through the first carnival of the season. Middlebury is in first place with 452 points, followed by Vermont (445) and Dartmouth (402).
At Waterville Valley, Woodhouse posted a two-run time of 1 minute, 41.06 seconds to collect 50 of the Wildcats' 105 points in women's SL (second place). Middlebury placed first with 111 points.
Will Bruneau-Bouchard (Quebec City, Quebec) headlined the Wildcats' men's SL competitors by finishing in ninth place (1:35.28).
At Craftsbury Outdoor Center, Scott Schulz (Lake Placid, N.Y.) placed sixth and Will Bodewes (Durango, Colo.) took ninth in the men's 10K skate to propel the UNH men's Nordic team to runner-up in that race. Schulz, in his UNH debut, completed the course in 25 minutes, 24.9 seconds (37 points), and Bodewes crossed the line in 25:43.8 for 31 points. UNH scored 94 points to finish runner-up to Vermont (138).
Freshman Lucinda Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) led the 'Cats in the women's 5K skate by finishing in 11th place (14:44.2).
