UNH’s 2019 leading goal scorer looks to continue her soccer career.
DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire senior forward Ally Reynolds (Weymouth, Mass.) looks to continue her soccer career in the United States, and has entered the 2020 National Women's Soccer League College Draft.
Reynolds, who transferred to UNH from Rhode Island ahead of the 2018 season, was UNH's leading goal scorer in the 2019 season, tallying nine goals and four assists for a team-high 22 points as she helped propel the Wildcats to their third America East semifinal appearance in four years.
Of her nine goals on the season, five of them counted as game-winning goals. Reynolds tallied goals in four of UNH's final six games of the season, including two goals against Maine (2-0 victory) and a goal and an assist in the America East Quarterfinals against Binghamton (3-2 victory). In her two years with the Wildcats, Reynolds tallied 13 goals, and five assists for 31 points.
Reynolds was named to the 2019 America East All-Conference First Team, the NEWISA Senior Bowl, the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Second Team, the All-New England First Team, and also excelled off the field, being named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Second Team.
"Ally Reynolds is a natural goal scorer and a fierce competitor," says Head Coach Steve Welham. "Whether it is scoring goals inside or outside of the box she is dangerous and a constant threat to score or create. Her drive and desire will serve her well at the next level…we are all very excited for her future. She has what it takes to play at the next level."
Reynolds becomes the first draft-eligible Wildcat in the NWSL draft since two members entered the draft in 2018; Brooke Murphy '18 and Kendra Prince '18, both of whom furthered their careers overseas in Sweden.
The draft takes place in Baltimore on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 11 A.M. The draft can be streamed on the NWSL's Facebook and Youtube pages, and on NWSLsoccer.com.
