Mosongo, Ginet, Monahan Compete in Catamount Challenge

Three Wildcats took part in the multi-event challenge at Vermont.
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Three members of the University of New Hampshire track and field teams traveled up to the University of Vermont this weekend for a two-day, multi-event running from Saturday, April 13 to Sunday, April 14.
-WOMENS HEPTATHLON-
Junior transfer Bosibori Mosongo (Indianapolis, Ind.) was the top UNH finisher in the challenge, competing in the women's heptathlon and taking third place overall with a score of 4023. It was her first heptathlon result for New Hampshire, after setting a personal best score of 4085 with junior college South Plains last season.
She was propelled to her top-three finish by her first place tie in the high jump, surpassing 5 feet, 2.25" inches, and winning the shot put outright with a distance of 33'4.75". Mosongo also took first in the 200 meter dash, in 27.24 seconds, a new Wildcat personal best.
-MEN'S DECATHLON-
On the men's side, the Wildcats sent freshman Brian Genet (Merrimack, N.H.) and sophomore Michael Monahan (Tewksbury, Mass.) to compete in the men's decathlon. Of the 10 individual events, each athlete won one on their way to a fifth and sixth place finish, respectively.

Next up for the 'Cats will be the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University next Friday, April 19. The weekend also features the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational at Northeastern on Saturday, April 20.

- Monahan took sixth in the decathlon, also posting his first collegiate score, with 4967. Monahan won the 110 meter hurdles in 15.27 seconds.
