Woodhouse Takes Fifth, Wildcat Skiers in Sixth at Middlebury

Woodhouse’s sixth Top-5 finish of season headlines Wildcats’ alpine lineup
HANCOCK & RIPTON, Vt. – Emma Woodhouse (Collingwood, Ontario) paced the UNH ski team's efforts Friday with a fifth-place finish in women's slalom at Middlebury Snow Bowl for her sixth Top-5 result of the EISA season, and the Wildcats moved into sixth place at the Middlebury College Carnival, which concludes Saturday.
Woodhouse, who has earned a Top-10 placement in seven of eight alpine races this season, paired a first-run time of 54.76 seconds with a second-run time of 50.76 seconds for a combined 1 minute, 45.52 for 39 of her team's 89 points (third place). Geneviève Frigon (Laval, Quebec) finished in 13th place (1:46.90, 27 points), and Lisa Olsson (Stockholm, Sweden) took 17th (1:47.28, 23 points).
Will Bruneau-Bouchard (Quebec City, Quebec) was the top Wildcat performer in men's SL with a 19th-place combined time of 1:40.61 (25 points).
At Rikert Nordic Center, Kaja Sandsten (Oppdal, Norway) registered a season-best 18th-place finish in the women's 10K classic mass start for 26 points (31 minutes, 45.9 seconds).
Will Bodewes paced UNH in the men's 15K classic MS in 42:47.6 seconds for 38th place (13 points).

•The EISA Championships represent the NCAA East Regional Championships at the Bates College Carnival on Feb. 22-23. Sunday River will serve as the site for the alpine championships, and Black Mountain will play host to the Nordic races.
