KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Senior forward Ally Reynolds (Weymouth, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team was named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's Scholar All-East Region Second Team on Monday. Teammate Megan Rumbold (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) was voted to the Third Team.
These two Wildcats helped UNH receive the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award (which was announced in November) for the ninth consecutive year this season. And both 'Cats recently competed at the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association Senior Bowl.
Reynolds, who has a 3.54 cumulative grade point average while majoring in health and physical education, secondary education, was named to the organization's All-Atlantic Second Team earlier this month. Reynolds led the Wildcats in goals (nine), game-winning goals (five) and points (22), and her 1.16 points per game was best in the America East conference. She ranked second in the conference in both goals and game-winning goals and earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team.
Rumbold has a 3.33 cumulative GPA in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in human development & family studies: education studies, elementary education. The senior back was a key part of UNH's defensive unit that averaged 0.88 goals per game allowed, and the 18 goals yielded by New Hampshire tied for second lowest in the conference and tied for fifth best in program history. Rumbold earned a spot on the America East All-Conference Second Team for the second consecutive year in 2019.
To be eligible for Scholar All-Region recognition, a student-athlete must meet the following criteria: 3.30 or higher cumulative grade point average throughout career; started more than 50 percent of all games and significantly contributed to her team; nominated by head coach of current College Services member institution; junior or above in academic standing; and, if a transfer, in second (or more) year at school.
