HOW IT HAPPENED:
- New Hampshire opened up with a scoring chance just over a minute into game time when Kaylan Williams dribbled the ball to the top of the 18 and fired a shot but it just missed the outside of the post and went wide.
- Freshman Whitney Wiley (Vienna, Va.) had a shot of her own when Liz Lane (Porter, Maine) drove down the right sideline and dribbled into the box. She just managed a pass before she could be dispossessed and it found the foot of Wiley who redirected it lower left side but the shot was saved by Manner.
- The New Hampshire defense held the Seawolves to just three shots on goal in the first half, blocking four shots and seeing aggressive play from sophomore Cat Sheppard (Nesconset, N.Y.) snatching shots and crosses out of midair before they could get on net, along with her three saves.
- Stony Brook broke the stalemate in the 60th minute, as Stony Brook's Erin O'Connor dribbled in the box and settled at the upper-left corner of the 18 and fired a shot lower right side to lead 1-0.
- Just seconds later in the 61st minute Williams caused a turnover inside the Stony Brook 18, dribbled past a defender, and hit a tough-angle shot to equalize at 1-1.
- Stony Brook's O'Connor would tally the go-ahead goal in the 64th minute on a similar play, shooting from the top-middle of the 18 and shooting it low to the center of the net.
- Due to injury, Cam Droste (Lone Tree, Colo.) entered the game in the 74th minute and finished out the game.
- In the 80th minute the Wildcats had a chance to equalize once again on a free kick into the box that was mis-handled by the goalkeeper, but no Wildcat could get near the ball to get a clean shot off and the Stony Brook defense cleared it away.
