HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Quarter
•The Wildcat defense forced the game's first turnover when Smith ripped the ball out of wide receiver Juwan Green's hands at the UNH 12. Horn pounced on the loose ball at the 13 to end UAlbany's opening drive.
•On their next drive, the Great Danes parlayed great field position into the game's first TD when Mofor capped a seven-play, 31-yard drive with a 6-yard TD scamper to give his team a 7-0 lead with 8:41 left in the first following the PAT.
•UNH responded with a nine-play, 48-yard scoring drive of its own punctuated by a 1-yard TD plunge from Evan Gray (Centreville, Va.), his third of the season, and a 7-7 tie following Hughes' PAT with 3:59 left in the quarter.
2nd Quarter
•The Wildcats grabbed a 14-7 lead with 9:55 left in the half when Brosmer called his own number after a play-action fake handoff and broke free down the right side for a 14-yard touchdown -his third of the season. That ended an 11-play, 78-yard drive.
•After Wynn's interception set up UAlbany at the Wildcats' 38, Undercuffler hit Mofor for a 22-yard connection, and then Mofor ran it in for a 16-yard TD to help the Danes tie the game, 14-14, with 6:45 left in the half.
•Albany would reclaim the lead, 17-14, after a 24-yard field goal from Dylan Burns with 3:04 remaining in the half. The Danes again took advantage of great field position when they recovered their own wind-aided kickoff at UNH's 28.
First Half Notes
•The UNH defense sacked Undercuffler three times in the first half and four times overall. Kvietkus tallied 1.5 sacks, Cameron Brusko (Bethlehem, Pa.) notched one sack and Gunner Gibson (Hailey, Idaho) added a half-sack.
•Albany's three scoring drives all started in UNH territory: the 31-yard line (punt return), the 38-yard line (INT return) and the 28 (onside kickoff).
•Mofor carried 12 times for 82 yards and two touchdowns in the half. The rest of the team accounted for -9 rushing yards.
4th Quarter
•Hughes kicked his 34-yard field goal with 10:59 remaining to knot the score at 17-17 to end a 15-play, 49-yard drive.
•The Danes then put together what turned out to be the game-winning drive with Mofor carrying three straight times for 11 yards to the UNH 46.
•Undercuffer completed an 11-yard pass to Jerah Reeves to the UNH 33, a 1-yard pass to Green and then hit Oedekoven over the top for a 32-yard scoring strike down the left sideline. It was the only time UNH's secondary was beaten deep the entire game, and it proved to be the final score.
•Hughes' 38-yard punt was muffed by Donovan McDonald and recovered by Horn at the UAlbany 23 with 4:43 left. But the UNH offense could not muster any yardage on its subsequent drive with four incompletions.
