The senior transfer wins her first weekly America East award.
BOSTON – University of New Hampshire senior forward Ally Reynolds (Weymouth, Mass.) has been named the America East Offensive Player of the Week the league announced Monday morning, after tallying three goals in conference play this past weekend.
Reynolds tallied all three of New Hampshire's goals in a 2-0 home victory over Maine Thursday evening, and a 1-0 victory on the road against Hartford on Sunday. The two wins clinched a playoff berth for the Wildcats for a sixth straight season, with two games still to go in regular season play.
Reynolds' two goals against Maine bookended the game with the first coming in the ninth minute on a tough-angle shot from the left side, and the second coming in the 84th minute on a give-and-go from teammate Sofia Borea (Oakville, Ontario), firing a shot from the top of the 18.
On Sunday against Hartford, Reynolds was fouled in the box 13 minutes into the game. Reynolds was awarded the penalty kick and beat the 'keeper lower left side to take the lead; the Wildcats were able to hold on for the 1-0 victory, moving them to third in the conference standings.
Reynolds, a transfer from Rhode Island, is in her second season with UNH; the weekly honor is her first America East weekly award in her career. Reynolds and the Wildcats travel to Stony Brook on Sunday, October 27 for a 1 P.M. contest; the Seawolves currently sit atop the America East conference with 15 points to UNH's 12.
