Reed Scores Career-High 21 Points in 74-39 Loss at Hartford

Senior Guard Tied Season High of Four 3-Pointers and Also Pulled Down Career-High Nine Rebounds
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Jordan Reed (Lucas, Texas) recorded 21 points and nine rebounds -- both career highs -- but the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was defeated 73-39 by the University of Hartford at Chase Arena on Wednesday night.
Reed made 8 of 14 field goal attempts and tied his season high of four 3-pointers (on eight attempts) to account for 20 of his team-high 21 points. He was also credited with one steal.
J.R. Lynch scored 21 of his game-high 29 points in the first half; he finished with seven 3-pointers. John Carroll tallied 13 points and six rebounds. George Blagojevic had nine points and game-high 12 rebounds.
UNH is now 3-15 overall and 1-4 in America East. Hartford improves to 10-10, 3-2.

FIRST HALF
* Hartford scored the first five points and raced out to an 11-2 lead 3 minutes, 44 seconds into the game and never looked back.
* The Hawks' fifth 3-pointer of the half gave the home team a 26-8 lead at 8:49.
* Elijah Jordan (Orlando, Fla.) drove the lane for a layup and Reed drilled a 3-pointer from the right corner to trim the deficit to 26-13 at 7:45.
* Hartford called time out and replied with back-to-back 3-balls to push the advantage to 32-13.
* Lynch hit his fifth 3-pointer of the half just before the buzzer to give the Hawks a 44-17 lead.
SECOND HALF
* Reed hit a 3-pointer and Mark Carbone (Weathersfield, Conn.) made a pair of 3-balls in the opening five minutes of the second half to advance the score to 52-28.
* Both teams then struggled offensively as Hartford led 56-30 at 7:44.
* A series of 3-pointers helped the Hawks extend the cushion to 72-33 at 4:56.

* New Hampshire has a 27-45 lifetime record against Hartford, which has won each of the past four matchups.
UNH NOTEBOOK
* Both KIjana Love (Cibolo, Texas) and Luke Rosinski (Derry, N.H.) played the entire second half after sitting on the bench the first 20 minutes of the game. Love finished with five points and two rebounds. Rosinski pulled down five boards and had a team-high two assists.
* Jayden Martinez (Cibolo, Texas) had a career-high three blocks.

* Hartford led 44-17 through 20 minutes on the strength of 45.5 percent shooting from the floor (15-33) that included 8 of 15 (53.3%) from long range.
