UNH improves to 8-2-1 this season and remains undefeated all-time at Wildcat Stadium.

DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore Jacob Gould (Exeter, N.H.) scored the game winning goal in double overtime as the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team defeated Albany, 1-0, at Wildcat Stadium on Friday night in America East action. The Wildcats improve to 8-2-1 (2-1-0 America East), while the Great Danes fall to 3-8-0 (0-3-0 America East). The Wildcats are 7-0-0 this season at home and are 17-0-3 all-time at Wildcat Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Wildcats took the first shot on goal of the game in the 25th minute when junior Donnett Sackie (Monrovia, Liberia) deflected a shot from 12 yards out, but was snagged by Albany goalie Danny Vitiello.

Senior Alex Valencia (Tracy, Calif.) sent a shot on net but it was captured by Vitiello in the 31st minute.
In the 45th minute, graduate student Lars Huxsohl (Hamburg, Germany) made his first save of the game off a shot from Kaio DaSilva.
At the half, the Wildcats had outshot Albany, 4-3.
The Great Danes looked to take the lead when Nico Solabarrieta drilled the ball near the post from eight yards out, but Huxsohl was able to redirect the ball out of bounds.
Albany's Daniel Krutzen blasted a shot from 40 yards out only to be tipped out of the net by a reaching save from Huxsohl in the 56th minute.
In the 78th minute, sophomore Josh Bauer (Bedford, N.H.) sent a header from six yards out, but it was knocked over the net by Vitiello keeping the game at 0-0.

Neither team was able to score during regulation as the game went into overtime.
In the 101st minute (100:45), the Wildcats secured the win when sophomore Conrad Cheng (Oslo, Norway) sent a pass to Gould who lifted the ball over the goalie's leg to score the game winner in double overtime.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Huxsohl made three saves, while Vitiello posted five.
UNH outshot Albany, 14-10, while the Wildcats took six shots on goal and the Great Danes tallied three.
UNH had nine corner kicks, while Albany took six.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

This is Gould's first goal of the season. Gould now has four career goals with two of them being game winners.
This is Huxsohl's sixth shutout of the season.
The Wildcats are 7-0-0 this season at home and are 17-0-3 all-time at Wildcat Stadium. UNH has outscored its opponents at home by a 35-8 margin over the 20 games played at the stadium.
This was the 19th all-time meeting between the two teams as the Great Danes now lead the all-time series, 9-7-3.
The Wildcats are 2-0-1 in overtime games this season.
