ORONO, Maine – The shot and saves total were eqMAINEl for the University of New Hampshire and 17^th-ranked University of Maine field hockey teams, but Maine was the 4-0 victor Sunday afternoon at UMaine Field Hockey Complex.

UNH starting goalkeeper Kelsey Rudert (North Grafton, Mass.) recorded five saves and allowed three goals in 35 minutes. Rachel Simkevich (Londonderry, N.H.) entered the game at the start of the second half and, in her second career appearance, made a career-high four saves with one goal allowed.

Maine counterpart Mia Borley made eight saves and Casey Crowley was credited with a defensive save. Nina Keur scored two goals. Riley Field and Brianna Ricker scored the other Black Bears' goals.

UNH is now 3-10 overall and 1-4 in America East. Maine, which avenged a 3-2 loss to the Wildcats at Memorial Field on Sept. 28, improved to 13-2, 4-1.

UNH pressured early as a shot by Bailey Fanikos (Lynnfield, Mass.) stopped by Borley led to a Wildcat corner in the opening minute. That corner produced a shot wide by Bloem van den Brekel (Eindhoven, Netherlands).
In the seventh minute, the 'Cats generated another corner and a direct shot off the stick of Nicky Bajus (Lions Bay, British Columbia) was stopped by Borley.
van den Brekel corralled the rebound and her shot beat Borley, but Crowley was in position to keep the ball out of the cage and keep the game scoreless.
Four minutes later, a succession of three consecutive UNH corners led to van den Brekel's shot that was steered away by Borley.
Maine scored on its first shot of the game by Keur at 11:26.
The Black Bears converted a corner into a goal and 2-0 lead at 14:53. Rudert stopped Samantha Wagg's initial shot, but Keur scored off the rebound.
Field struck at 19:11 to extend the advantage to 3-0.
New Hampshire called a timeout and recorded a 2-1 shot advantage the remainder of the first half, but the 'Cats trailed by three goals at halftime.
UNH had the edge in both shots (10-8) and corners (5-2) in the opening 35 minutes.
Ricker, with the assistance of Lydia Gavner, closed the scoring with 92 seconds remaining in the game.
