The No. 15/14 UNH football team enters Saturday's first-ever game against Bryant University with a 3-1 overall record that includes 2-0 at home and 1-1 against non-conference opponents.
A UNH football record home crowd of 22,135 saw the Wildcats defeat the University of Rhode Island, 28-14, in last Saturday's Homecoming and Family Weekend game at Wildcat Stadium.
Nineteenth-year head coach Sean McDonnell recorded his 92nd career victory in CAA conference play Sept. 23 with UNH's 28 -14 win vs. URI at Wildcat Stadium. McDonnell's predecessor, Bill Bowes, is No. 3 at 97 career conference wins.
Since the start of the 2007 season, UNH has a 53-8 home record for an .869 win percentage. That mark includes 17-2 (.895) in non-conference games at The Dungeon.
Junior quarterback Trevor Knight was honored as CAA Football co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Knight completed 23 of 34 passes for a career-high 420 yards and three touchdowns, and he also rushed for 19 yards and another TD.
The previous time a Wildcat QB surpassed 400 passing yards in a game was Sept. 13, 2014 (Sean Goldrich- 422).
Junior wide receiver Neil O'Connor surpassed 200 receiving yards for the first time in his career with 11 catches for 232 yards and a touchdown against URI. The 232 yards are the most by a Wildcat since Oct. 2, 2004, when David Ball had 11 catches for a school-record 284 yards and three TDs.
The previous time a UNH Wildcat surpassed 200 receiving yards in a game was Nov. 8, 2014 (R.J. Harris- 210).
Sophomore Quinlen Dean has been UNH's leading tackler in 3 of 4 games and he is 14th in the nation in solo tackles (6.3 per game).
New Hampshire has scored first and led at the end of the first quarter all four games this season.
UNH is No. 11 in the nation in interceptions with six INTs recorded by the defense. New Hampshire is also No. 20 in turnovers gained (eight) as well as No. 15 in turnover margin.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Wildcats are No. 23 in passing offense (271.5 yards/game), No. 25 in passing efficiency (151.86) and 27th in first downs (80).
