Third Straight Semifinal Appearance Up Next at Vermont (March 6; 7 PM)

DURHAM, N.H. – The No. 4 University of New Hampshire men's basketball team (20-11, 10-6 AE) travels to No. 1 University of Vermont (27-5, 16-0 AE) on Monday, March 5 (7 PM) for the semifinal round of the America East Championships on ESPN3.
Looking Ahead
With a win, UNH will play on Saturday, March 11 (11 AM) in the America East Championships for the first time in program history. Opponent, location and game time will all be finalized following games Monday night.

Men and Women Hoop Success
This is the third time and first since 1993-94 that both the UNH women and men have advanced to the America East tournament semifinals. They also both made the semifinals in 1987-88 and 1982-83.
America East Semifinals Round II
The Wildcats were bounced from the America East Championships a year ago after a 63-56 loss at Vermont on March 7, 2016. Leissner poured in 28 points and 10 rebounds but the Catamounts held UNH to 22 of 62 (35.5 percent) shooting and had good bench point production with 11 points. Vermont led by as much as 19 points with 7:45 to play in the game before UNH went on a 17-4 run to trail by six points, 56-52, with 43 seconds to play. Vermont got two stops before the buzzer sounded.
