AE Quarterfinals Against UMBC Set For Wed. on ESPN3 (March 1; 7:30 PM)

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's basketball team (19-11, 10-6 AE) is set to host UMBC (18-11, 9-7 AE) in the 2016-17 America East Men's Basketball Playoff quarterfinal round on Wednesday, March 1 (7:30 PM).
Looking Ahead
With a win, UNH will play on Monday, March 6 in the semifinal round. Opponent, location and game time will all be finalized following games on Wednesday. Ticket info will be available at UNHWildcats.com.

America East All-Conference Honors
Leissner, Smith and Dion all were named to First, Second and Third All-Conference Teams, respectively, on Monday. Leissner became the second UNH athlete to earn All-Conference First Team honors twice in a career. Smith was named to the second team for the second-straight season and Dion earned his first All-Conference honor. Leissner is also the only member of the All-Conference First Team to be a repeat member.

UNH and UMBC have battled to two double-overtime games this season, splitting the season series at a game apiece. In game one, the Wildcats led for 31:28 over the Retrievers' lead time of 10:57. In game two the tables turned, UMBC led for 28:57 over the Wildcats' 17:12 lead time. Even more interesting, in the first matchup both teams were tied at the end of each period until UMBC outscored UNH 13-11 in the second overtime period.

- Senior Jaleen Smith (Freeport, Texas) grabbed seven rebounds against UMBC to become the first player in UNH history with at least 1,000 points, 260 assists and 600 rebounds.
