DURHAM, N.H. – With the Wildcats trailing 1-0 after the first half, UNH netted four second-half goals as the No. 18 University of New Hampshire men's soccer team defeated No. 20 Dartmouth, 4-2, on Tuesday night at Wildcat Stadium. With the win, the Wildcats improve to 10-1-3 overall, while the Big Green fall to 8-3-1.

Graduate student Robin Schmidt (Cologne, Germany) scored two goals for the Wildcats, while sophomores Siggi Giersson (Reykjavik, Iceland) and Jack Doherty (Meriden, N.H.) each found the back of the net.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Dartmouth took a 1-0 lead in the 37th minute (36:04) on a header from Matt Danilack off a rebound of a shot from Justin Donawa.
In the 42nd minute, the Wildcats took their first shot on goal when sophomore Jack Doherty (Meridan, N.H) fired a shot from 20 yards out that was saved by Dartmouth goalie Christopher Palacios.
The Wildcats tied the game at 1-1 in the 47th minute (46:06) after Schmidt stole the ball from Palacios and sent it into the net.
Schmidt put the Wildcats in the lead with a header in the 66th minute (65:05) off a pass from Doherty.
UNH increased the lead to 3-1 in the 79th minute (78:22) after Giersson sent a header from eight yards out to the back of the net from a pass by freshman Conrad Cheng (Oslo, Norway).
Dartmouth cut the lead to 3-2 in the 85th minute (84:47) after Dawson McCartney stole the ball and blasted a shot from 10 yards out.
Doherty then netted the last goal of the game when he sent a shot from 10 yards out to the right side of the net off a pass by freshman Jacob Gould (Exeter, N.H.).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

UNH outshot Dartmouth, 12-9, while each team took five shots on goal.
Wildcat goalkeeper Andrew Pesci (Windham, N.H.) made three saves, while Palacios posted one.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

This is UNH's second win over a nationally ranked team this year as the Wildcats defeated No. 22 Boston College, 2-0, on Sept. 1.
UNH is 7-0-2 at home this season.
Geirsson's goal was his first at UNH.
The assist was the first career point for Cheng.
The Wildcats are 4-0-1 over the last five games.
