HOW IT HAPPENED:
- UNH generated a 4-0 shot advantage in the scoreless first half.
- Antonio Colacci (Bradenton, Fla.) broke the scoreless tie at 50:32 when he blasted a right-footed shot from 22 yards on the top-right side into the upper-left corner. Schmidt, with the pass back to Colacci from the box, was credited with an assist.
- Schmidt had another excellent scoring chance in the 57th minute. His low blast from 20 yards sailed just wide of the left post.
- Two minutes later, his rising shot from almost the same spot sailed high over the crossbar.
- Binghamton scored on its first shot on goal at 81:46. On a scrum in front of the net, Kurt Wesch one-timed the loose ball into the open net.
- Colacci played a quick corner from the left side and it led to a shot by Kyle Brewster (New Hampton, N.H.) that ricocheted off goalkeeper Alejandro Cubillo and the crossbar. Schmidt won the battle for the loose ball in the goalmouth and buried a shot into the net.
