Egan & Harb Lead Ski Team on Day 2 of NCAA Championships

STOWE, Vt. – Clare Egan (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) finished 29th in the women's 15K classic Nordic race, and Harrison Harb (Hopkinton, N.H.) notched a 30th-place finish in the men's 20K classic to help the University of New Hampshire ski team maintain its hold on eighth place after the second day of action at the 2011 NCAA Skiing Championships, hosted by the University of Vermont, on Friday.
With one day of competition remaining, UNH has compiled 222 points to remain in front of ninth-place Montana State University (190 points) and 10th-place Northern Michigan University (185). The University of Colorado (647) holds a commanding lead of first, followed by the University of Utah (562.5) and Dartmouth College (500.0).
The women's 15K led off the day's cross-country racing action at Trapp Family Lodge, with Egan earning 11 points in a total time of 58 minutes, 30.3 seconds. UNH teammate Tasha Kullas (Timmins, Ontario) was the next competitor to cross the finish line, collecting 10 points and 30th place in 58:43.9. Liz Guiney (Park City, Utah) tallied three points, completing her race in 1:01:21.4 for 37th place. The Wildcats totaled 24 points to finish 11th overall in the event captured by the University of Utah (116 points).

Harb, New Hampshire's lone participant in the 20K classic, compiled 10 points by placing 30th in 1 hour, 10 minutes, 9.6 seconds.
