BOSTON — University of New Hampshire sophomore sprinter/jumper Sarah Moore (Lisbon, Maine) was named America East Women's Indoor Performer of the Year, as announced by the league on Wednesday (March 25). With the nomination, Moore becomes the first Wildcat from the women's track and field team to win Indoor Performer of the Year honors.
Moore closed out her sophomore indoor season with NEICAAA Championship wins in both the women's long jump (19' 9.75") and the women's 200-meter dash (24.70), the latter of the two performances breaking the UNH women's indoor track and field school record in the event.
Preceding her pair of New England Championships, Moore found success in the America East Championships, breaking the school record and tying the America East Championship record in the women's long jump with a meet-leading 20' 4.50" leap, winning the event.
At the end of the season, Moore paced the conference in women's long jump with her 20' 4.50" try, while ranking seventh in the women's 200-meter dash (24.70), and 11th in both the women's triple jump (37' 8.75") and 60-meter dash (7.62).
UNH returns to action on March 27 as the track and field opens the outdoor season with the Black and Gold Invite at the Bryant Track & Turf Complex in Smithfield, R.I.
