Men’s Cross Country Edged by Maine

ORONO, MAINE. – Senior David Gervais (Nashua, N.H.) finished fourth overall but the University of New Hampshire men's cross country team was edged by Maine in dual meet action Friday afternoon at the Maine Cross Country Course.

New Hampshire finished with 30 points, placing just behind Maine (29).

Gervais, who placed 11th overall in the season-opener against Providence, ran the five-mile course in a time of 26:06.4.

UNH secured spots four through eight as sophomore John Prizzi (Wyckoff, N.J.) claimed the fifth slot in a time of 26:16.8. Sophomores Jeremy Wildgoose (Woodstock, Conn.) and Dean Bhatt (Woodbridge, Conn.), and freshman Luke Miller (Birdsboro, Pa.) finished sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively, in times of 26:18.2, 26:19.5 and 26:20.7 to round out the scorers.

The Wildcats return to action on Friday, Sept. 28 when they take part in the Paul Short Invitational on the campus of Lehigh University.
