DURHAM, N.H. – Freshman Jordan Thomas (Mohnton, Pa.) netted a pair of goals to lead the University of New Hampshire men’s soccer team past UMass Lowell, 4-0, Friday afternoon at Cowell Stadium in the team’s second outing of the spring.

Joe Corsello (York, Maine) got UNH on the board early, taking a corner kick and putting the ball into the box, deflecting off a River Hawk defender into the back of the net to give the Wildcats the 1-0 lead at the half.

The ‘Cats got on the board again when Antti Arvola (Espoo, Finland) served a corner kick to the back post where Thomas connected on a header for a 2-0 advantage to start off the second frame.

Arvola wouldn’t wait long to add to the lead, connecting on a direct free kick, putting the ball into the top right hand corner of the net, giving the Wildcats the 3-0 lead.

New Hampshire finished off the afternoon with another goal by Thomas, giving the Wildcats the 4-0 advantage. Arvola ignited the play, getting inside box for a point blank shot that was saved, but Thomas headed the rebound into the net for the score.
