'Cats Fall to Boston University, 1-0, in Season Opener

UNH to take on Colgate on Aug. 24 at Wildcat Stadium
DURHAM, N.H. – Alex Bonnington scored the lone goal of the game for the Terriers as the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team fell to Boston University, 1-0, on Thursday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium in the season opener for both teams.
The 'Cats start the season 0-1, while the Terriers begin 2025 at 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· The first half went scoreless as each team took one shot on goal.
· Bonnington gave the Terriers a 1-0 lead in the 48th minute (47:57) when he knocked in a rebound off a shot from Austin Mobray that hit the post.
· The Wildcats almost tied the match in the 74th minute when graduate student back Jiwoo Lee (Seoul, South Korea) sent a header that was saved by BU goalie Ben Alexander.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· UNH outshot BU, 9-5, while the Terriers had three shots on goal and the Wildcats posted two.
· The Wildcats attempted seven corner kicks and BU took one.
· Graduate student goalkeeper Scott Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio) made two saves for UNH, while Alexander also posted two saves for the Terriers.
