UNH Retains Lead in America East Commissioner's Cup Standings

BOSTON – The University of New Hampshire remains atop the America East 2024-25 Stuart P. Haskell, Jr. Commissioner's Cup standings through the winter sports season with 233 points. The announcement was made Thursday by the conference.
This is the first time since 2019-20 that UNH leads the standings after the conclusion of the winter sports season. The Wildcats are followed by the University of Vermont (216), Bryant University (208) and UAlbany (206).
The women's swimming and diving team won UNH's third title of the 2024-25 season to add 14 points to the Commissioner Cup total. It is the team's fifth championship the past six years and conference-record 12th overall. The 'Cats received the Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet, Most Outstanding Diver of the Meet, Rookie of the Meet, and Coaching Staff of the Year, as well as the Elite 18 award.
Men's basketball earned the highest point total of any UNH winter sports team with 19 points; the Wildcats tied for sixth in the standings and played in the quarterfinals.
Women's basketball received 13 points for its eighth-place finish and quarterfinal appearance.
Women's track & field tallied 10 points for a fifth-place finish at the America East championships that was highlighted by a gold-medal effort in the 1,000-meter run.
Men's track & field recorded eight points by virtue of a sixth-place finish at the conference championship meet; the Wildcats finished as runner-up in three events.
In the fall 2024 season, UNH amassed a conference-record 169 points and the Wildcats' 62 point lead also marked a conference record.
The women's cross country and volleyball teams both won titles, the field hockey and women's soccer teams both advanced to tourney championship games, and the men's soccer team captured a league-record sixth consecutive regular-season crown.

The second-place institution receives four less points; third place receives eight less points, and so on. Additionally, the America East (tournament) champion receives two points times the total number of teams participating in the championship. The second-place institution receives two less points; third place receives four less points and so on down to the last-place institution which receives two points.
