Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Briana Danis and Yoofi Abaka-Amuah

DURHAM, N.H. – Junior Briana Danis (Hooksett, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire women's track and field team and senior Yoofi Abaka-Amuah (Worcester, Mass.) of the UNH men's track and field team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on March 31.
Briana finished as the women's co-MVP at the Jaylin Rainford Invitational, which was held March 27 at the Bryant University Track & Turf Complex. She achieved this by scoring 16 points overall in the competition with a win in the hammer and third place in this discus. Her best hammer throw came in at 165 feet, six inches to give her first place in the event. In the discus, her toss of 144-8 proved to be enough for another top three finish – third place – at the meet.
Briana's 16-point performance tied for third best at the meet including all women and men. UNH finished in third place out of 16 teams with 99 points.
The UNH women's track & field team returns to action Saturday, April 4 (11am) at home for the Jim Boulanger Invitational at the Reggie F. Atkins Track & Field Facility.
Yoofi finished second as the men's MVP by scoring 18 points from his first-place finish in the discus and second in hammer at the Jaylin Rainford Invitational, which was held March 27 at Bryant University.
Yoofi took the top spot in the discus with a throw of 157-7. He also placed second in the hammer throw with a mark of 197-10. UNH placed second out of 14 teams with 117 points.
