Sophomore set personal best on beam (9.875) and tied for first on floor (9.875) vs Rutgers
WEIRTON, W. Va. – UNH sophomore gymnast Anne Challman (Lewisburg, Pa.) was named the EAGL Specialist of the Week for Week 11, the East Atlantic Gymnastics League announced Wednesday. This marks Challman's fourth EAGL Specialist of the Week award this season.
At UNH's Senior Day meet against Rutgers on Sunday in the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex, Challman tied the Wildcats' highest score of the meet, and she did it twice, with a personal-best 9.875 to share runner-up on balance beam and a 9.875 on floor exercise to earn a share of first place for the third time this season. The Lewisburg, Pa., native helped power UNH to its highest beam score (49.000) since its season-best 49.050 at the Towson Invite on Jan. 31, and she anchored the floor lineup to clinch UNH's highest score of the season (195.750).
On Monday, Challman was named to the All-EAGL First Team on floor with a 9.855 National Qualifying Score (NQS) and the league's No. 6 ranking on that apparatus. She earned All-EAGL Second Team on beam with 9.785 NQS (No. 16 ranking).
Challman previously garnered the EAGL Specialist of the Week award on Jan. 8, Jan. 15, and Feb. 12.
