DURHAM, N.H. – Simon Jellus scored the game-winning goal for the Catamounts with 19 seconds left in overtime as the No. 18 University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to Vermont, 3-2, on Friday night at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex in Hockey East action.
Junior forward Cy LeClerc (Brentwood, N.H.) and sophomore forward Ryan Conmy (Alexandria, Va.) each scored for the Wildcats, while junior goalie Jared Whale (Calgary, Alberta) made 24 saves.
The Wildcats fall to 10-9-3 (2-8-2 Hockey East), while the Catamounts improve to 9-12-3 (4-8-2 Hockey East).

- The Wildcats opened up the scoring in the first period at 7:26 when senior defenseman Alex Gagne (Bedford, N.H.) sent the puck over to LeClerc, who blasted a one-timer into the back of the net, giving UNH the 1-0 advantage.

- UNH continued its momentum and extended the advantage to 2-0 with a power play goal at 15:12 in the first period. Conmy fired the puck at the net and then scored off of his own rebound. Senior defenseman Luke Reid (Warman, Saskatchewan) and senior forward Robert Cronin (Plymouth, Mass.) were credited with assists on the goal.
