Johnson Records Second Consecutive Shutout in 3-0 Win vs. Lafayette

DURHAM, N.H. – Kathelijne Knuttel (Groningen, Netherlands), Ella Pratt (Denver, Colo.) and Tasmin Cookman (London, England) each scored a goal to lead the University of New Hampshire field hockey team to Sunday's 3-0 victory against Lafayette College at Memorial Field.
Freshman goalie Abby Johnson (Walpole, Mass.) made four saves on four shots on target to record a shutout and win. Lafayette starting goalie Raffi Fragomeni was credited with five saves and Addison Kahn did not face a shot on goal in the last 5:14 of the game.
UNH improves to 2-2 overall and Lafayette is 3-1 overall.

FIRST QUARTER
- Knuttel broke the scoreless tie at 4:46m when she corralled the ball in the middle of the circle and drove a shot through traffic to the back of the net.
- The quarter ended with a score of 1-0 with UNH in the lead.
SECOND QUARTER
- Pratt, a senior captain, scored her first goal of the season at 16:58. The sequence started on a penalty corner where Pratt inserted a pass collected by Tamera Cookman (London, England) at the top of the circle. Cookman sent the ball back to Pratt at the left post, where she knocked it in to extend UNH's lead to 2-0.
- At 25:55, Tasmin Cookman scored her second goal of the season to push the UNH lead to 3-0. The sequence started with Addison MacNeil (Brentwood, N.H.) passing it low on the left side to Cookman, who swept it into the net.
THIRD QUARTER
- The third quarter was scoreless with New Hampshire holding the lead for shots, 3-1.
FOURTH QUARTER
- The fourth quarter was also scoreless with the shots tied 3-3.
- Johnson preserved the shutout by making two stops on a penalty corner in the last minute. She turned aside the initial shot at the top of the circle by Lineke Spaans and the second off the rebound out front by Alex Darrah.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- Knuttel extended her goal and point streaks to three games. She has a team-high three goals and is tied for the lead in points with seven.
- Tasmin Cookman has scored a goal each of the last two games and a point in three straight. She is also tied atop the points leaderboard with seven.
- Pratt scored her first career goal.
- Johnson recorded her second consecutive shutout and has not allowed a goal in 139 minutes, 34 seconds.
