Wildcats Fall to Harvard 72-62 on Camper Appreciation Day

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's basketball team fell to Harvard, 72-62 on Sunday afternoon from Lundholm Gymnasium.
Junior guard Anthony McComb III (Dayton, Ohio) scored 21 points for the Wildcats and collected three rebounds. Junior guard Sami Pissis (Paris, France) added 16 points, three assists, and three rebounds for the 'Cats.
The Wildcats fall to 2-11 (0-0 AE).

- Sophomore forward Davide Poser (Veneto, Italy) kicked off the scoring for UNH with a three-pointer, followed by a junior guard Jawarie Hamelin (Westerly, R.I.) layup.
- Harvard took the lead 7-9 but Pissis tied it back up with two free-throws, followed by a jumper.
- The game remained scoreless for four-and-a-half minutes, until freshman guard Khalil Badru (New Britain, Conn.) two free-throws put the Wildcats one point behind (13-14).
- Pissis put the Cats' back on the map after scoring two three-pointers, followed by two freshman center Caleb Middleton (Dover, N.H.) free-throws to tie up the game 23-23.
- A Pissis two put the Cats' one point behind but were unable to take the lead at the end of the first half (29-30).

- UNH took the lead at the start of the second half with a Badru three-pointer.
- Middleton fought hard to keep the Cats' in the game with two layups and a steal (40-39).
- The teams battled back and forth. A Poser corner three kept UNH shortly behind.
- The Wildcats remained one point behind with 4:34 on the clock, but a Pissis layup put them ahead (54-53).
- Poser and McComb III layups helped the Cats' thin the deficit but they were not able to come back as Harvard won the game 72-62.

- Middleton tied his career high of 10 points
- This is McComb III's fourth game with over 20 points this season.
- The Wildcats' next time back at Lundholm Gym will be January 21st versus Vermont.
