Wildcats Fall in Close Battle vs. Dartmouth Tuesday Night

Pissis tallied five three pointers and 21 points
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's basketball team fell to Dartmouth, 69-65 on Tuesday night from Lundholm Gymnasium.
Junior guard Sami Pissis (Paris, France) scored 21 points for the Wildcats and collected five rebounds. Junior guard Anthony McComb III (Dayton, Ohio) added 14 points, two assists, and three rebounds for the 'Cats.

- Sophomore forward Davide Poser (Veneto, Italy) knocked down a three at the shot clock buzzer to give the 'Cats their first points of the night (3-2).
- At the first media time out Dartmouth lead the Wildcats 9-5. Before the time out freshman guard Khalil Badru (New Britain, Conn.) made his first layup of the game.
- Following the time out Dartmouth shot out with a 22-9 lead.
- The 'Cats forced a timeout after going on a six-point run, which consisted of four McComb III points and two free throws from Pissis.
- The 'Cats batted back to tie up the score at 32 after being down as much as 14 thanks to a deep Pissis three pointer with four seconds remaining in the half.

- The 'Cats took a 34-32 lead in the second half after a layup from graduate student forward/center Emmanuel Okpomo (Delta State, Nigeria).
- Dartmouth surged ahead and forced a timeout after going up 48-38.
- A 22-17 run by the Wildcats brought the score to 65-60 with 3:24 remaining. The Big Green made a layup, but Pissis knocked down a three and McComb floated in a layup to cut the deficit to two.
- The Wildcats brought the score to 67-65 with 30 seconds left but never regained the lead and fell short 69-65.

- Despite the lost UNH out shot Dartmouth 43.1% to 35.5% and out rebounded them 40-36.
- Pissis made five three pointers and recorded 21 points.
- McComb chipped in with 14 points.

- The Wildcats return to action on Sunday, Dec. 8 for Camper Appreciation Day at 1 p.m. vs. Harvard.
