Siewruk Tallies Career-High 16 Points in Wildcats Loss to Columbia Monday Night

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Freshman guard Antoni Siewruk (Koszalin, Poland) recorded his career high of 16 points as the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team fell to Columbia, 83-57 on Monday night from Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium.
Siewruk scored 16 points for the Wildcats and collected five rebounds. Freshman guard Khalil Badru (New Britain, Conn.) added 12 points and four rebounds for the 'Cats. Junior guard Rex Sunderland (Kaysville, Utah) also tallied seven points and five assists on the night.
The Wildcats fall to 2-8 (0-0 AE).

FIRST HALF- Sunderland got the 'Cats out in front 3-2 after pulling up from beyond the arch.
- Columbia surged ahead going up 9-3. Middleton dropped two layups to keep UNH in the game (13-7).
- The Lions continued their success and went up 19 with just under seven minutes remaining in the first half. Hamelin knocked down a three-pointer and freshman forward Jon O'Neill (Kaukauna, Wis.) guard Khalil Badru (New Britain, Conn.) made layups in that stretch.
- UNH brought the score as close as 12 points after a sophomore forward Davide Poser (Veneto, Italy) three-pointer.
- The Lions led the 'Cats 45-31 at the half.
SECOND HALF- Badru began the second half with back-to-back layups to put the Wildcats down by 10 points. A Sundarland layup trimmed it down to a 45-37-point game.
- Columbia went on a 17-2 run to go up 62-39.
- The 'Cats were never able to battle back as they fell to the Lions with a final score of 83-57.
- Siewruk scored eight of his career-high 16 points in the second half.
