Daniels Posts Double Double in 75-62 Victory Over Stonehill

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior forward Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) dropped 20 points for the 'Cats and collected 12 rebounds as the University of New Hampshire men's Basketball team defeated Stonehill 75-62 Monday evening from Lundholm Gym.
Junior guard Dior Davis (New York City, New York) was 100% from the field to contribute nine points for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats' record advances to 7-4 (0-0 AE) and Stonehill's falls to 1-11 (0-0 NEC).

FIRST HALF:
· Stonehill opened scoring with a jump shot in the key. Daniels responded with a three from the corner to take the lead.
· Halfway through the first, Stonehill went on a 9-0 run over two minutes to take a 19-13 lead.
· Seven points in one minute for the 'Cats gave UNH a one-point lead, 20-19 with 11:39 remaining in the half.
· UNH broke open the scoring, going on a 17-5 run to give the Wildcats an 11-point lead with just over three minutes remaining.
· The Skyhawks closed their deficit to four going into the half, 41-37
SECOND HALF:
· Stonehill again drained the first points of the half with a three pointer. Grad student guard Naim Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa.) quickly sank a three of his own.
· With 14:50 remaining in the half, Daniels converted on an and one. He was fouled on a slam dunk giving him a team leading 18 points.
· Junior forward Trey Woodyard (London, Ohio) was successful on two free throws with 10:43 remaining to give the Wildcats their biggest lead of the evening, 61-49
· Max Zegarowski swished a three pointer from the corner to make the contest a two-possession game with 3:53 left.
· Junior guard Ahmad Robinson (West Orange, N.J.) had eight points for the Wildcats in the last two minutes to secure the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· The Wildcats combined for 11 steals in the contest.
· Daniels led the team in both points (20) and rebounds (12) recording his fourth double double of the season.
· With the win Monday evening, UNH remains undefeated at home.
· Freshman guard Davide Poser (Veneto, Italy) and junior forward Paul Gakmar (Perth, Australia) recorded blocks for the 'Cats.
