#11 'Cats Capture Fifth Straight Regular Season Championship with 2-0 Win Over #16 Vermont

Wildcats will be the No. 1 seed in the AE Tournament.
DURHAM, N.H. – Georgios Koliniatis (Athens, Greece) and Eli Goldman (Minneapolis, Minn.) each scored a goal as the No. 11 University of New Hampshire men's soccer team defeated No. 16 Vermont, 2-0, on Tuesday evening at Wildcat Stadium.
With the win, the Wildcats have captured their fifth straight America East regular season championship and will be the No. 1 seed in the America East Tournament. UNH will play a home semifinal game versus the winner of the quarterfinal match between No. 4 seed Vermont and No. 5 seed NJIT on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at UNHWildcats.com/Tickets.
UNH is only the second program to win five straight America East regular season championships as Boston University won five from 1990-1994. The Wildcats have won six regular season AE titles overall as they also captured the trophy in 2009.
The Wildcats improve to 11-1-4 (4-0-3 AE), while the Catamounts fall to 11-4-2 (4-3-0 AE).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· The 'Cats took an early lead in the eighth minute (7:11) when Koliniatis slotted the ball into the bottom right corner of the net from the top of the box. Sophomore Taig Healy (South Hampton, N.H.) had a beautiful pass that split the defense. Grad student Yannick Bright (Milan, Italy) was also credited with an assist.

· Goldman fired the ball into the left side of the goal after recovering a blocked shot by grad student Bilal Kamal (London, England) in the 67th minute (66:01) to extend UNH's lead to 2-0.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· UNH outshot UVM, 12-9, while the Wildcats tallied seven shots on goal and the Catamounts took three.
· UNH took four corner kicks, while UVM posted three.
· Grad student Joseba Incera (Santurtzi, Spain) recorded three saves to post his fourth shutout of the season, and improve to 8-1-3, while Vermont goalkeeper Owen Jack made five saves.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
· The Wildcats are 6-1-2 at home this season.
· UNH is 59-3-9 all-time at Wildcat Stadium, outscoring the opposition, 142-27.
· The Wildcats are 9-0-3 over the last 12 games, and have won five straight
