DURHAM, N.H. – With the Wildcats trailing 1-0, graduate student Eli Goldman (Minneapolis, Minn.) and graduate student Dominik Kurija (Munich, Germany) each scored in the second half as the No. 19 University of New Hampshire men's soccer team defeated Hofstra, 2-1, on Tuesday evening at Wildcat Stadium.

The Wildcats, who are 6-0-3 over their last nine games, improve to 8-1-4, while the Pride fall to 9-3-4.

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats return to action versus NJIT on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium on AE.TV for Senior Day. Also the UNH Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be collecting non-perishable food items as part of Food Frenzy. The donations will go to the Cornucopia Food Pantry in Durham.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

In the 21st minute (20:34), Eliot Goldthorp sent a pass from 25 yards out that found Nico Oberrauch who headed the ball to the lower right corner of the net for the early 1-0 lead.
The Wildcats tied the game at 1-1 in the 51st minute (50:01), when Kurija blasted a shot from 25 yards out that was saved but Goldman knocked in the rebound. The goal was his sixth of the season.
The Wildcats scored the game winner when Kurija fired a shot from 30 yards out to the upper left corner of the net in the 63rd minute (62:45). Grad student Bilal Kamal (London, England) and grad student Atila Ashrafi (Cologne, Germany) each recorded an assist on the goal.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 
 

UNH outshot Hofstra, 22-10, while the Wildcats tallied nine shots on goal and the Pride took five.
UNH took four corner kicks and Hofstra posted three.
Grad student Joseba Incera (Santurtzi, Spain) recorded four saves to earn the win and improve to 5-1-3, while Hofstra goalkeeper Wessel Speel made seven saves.
