HANOVER, N.H. – Sophomore forward and captain Tasmin Cookman (Woking, England) recorded a goal and an assist to lead the University of New Hampshire field hockey team to Sunday afternoon's 3-2 victory against Dartmouth at Chase Field.

Tamera Cookman (Woking, England) and Mari Shea (Hampstead, N.H.) were UNH's other goal scorers and Jemma Woods (Frimley, England) was credited with six saves.

Lila Browne scored both Dartmouth goals and Ava Carlson stopped 10 shots defending the Big Green cage. Olivia Galiotos was credited with a defensive save.

UNH won its second consecutive game to improve to 8-3 overall. DC is 4-4.

UP NEXT

New Hampshire returns to action Oct. 6 (6 p.m.) at Boston University.
The Wildcats' next home game is Oct. 13 (2 p.m.) against the University of Maine for a Border Battle, presented by Buffalo Wild Wings.

FIRST QUARTER

UNH recorded a 5-2 shot advantage in the opening 15 minutes but trailed 2-1.
Cookman's 11^th goal of the season gave the Wildcats an early 1-0 lead at 2:15. Kathelijne Knuttel (Groningen, Netherlands) set up the tally with the pass to Cookman in front.
Browne scored goals 48 seconds apart – at 8:56 and 9:44 – to give Dartmouth a 2-1 lead.

SECOND QUARTER

The 'Cats had a 7-6 shot advantage in the scoreless second quarter.

THIRD QUARTER

UNH controlled play and generated a 7-1 shot advantage in the third quarter to regain the lead, 3-2.
Shea tied the score, 2-2, at 38:44 when she collected the centering pass from Nicole Poulakis (Ajax, Ontario) in front of the cage and finished.
The Wildcats converted a corner into a goal and 3-2 advantage at 423:45. The battery of Lindsay Lee (Eindhoven, Netherlands) and Tasmin Cookman set up the direct shot by Tamera Cookman that went into the cage.

FOURTH QUARTER

UNH had a 4-3 edge in shots in the scoreless fourth quarter.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

New Hampshire finished with a 23-12 shot advantage that included 14-8 on goal.
UNH had a 7-6 edge in corners.

UNH NOTEBOOK

Tasmin Cookman tallied a goal and an assist for the second consecutive game and she has factored in multiple goals in a game six times.
Cookman is atop the UNH leaderboard in both goals (11) and points (25).
Poulakis extended her point streak to six games; she has four goals and six assists for a total of 14 points in that span.
For the season, Poulakis has a team-high eight assists and ranks second in both goals (seven) and points (22).
Tamera Cookman scored a goal for the second consecutive game.
Knuttel has tallied a point in 8 of 11 games this season.

We had a lot of scoring opportunities yet again a high-powered offense and did a good job with it. They're coming off a big win and had a little bit of an energy boost and we were maybe a little flatter in the first quarter. But we rebounded well and I thought we did a good job coming back.
