Wildcats Drop One at Binghamton, 68-50

VESTAL, N.Y. – The University of New Hampshire men's basketball team ended a three-game road trip with a loss at Binghamton University, 68-50, in America East conference play on Thursday night at Dr. Bai Lee Court at the Binghamton Events Center.
With the loss, UNH falls to 6-8 (1-1 AE) and Binghamton improves its record to 5-10 (1-1 AE).

FIRST HALF
- The first half started with both teams trading baskets for the first six minutes of action, knotting the score at 8-8 with 13:50 remaining.
- After a layup from graduate student Jaxson Baker (Phoenix, Ariz.) and a three pointer from graduate student Matt Herasme (Chester, N.Y.). the 'Cats took a 13-11 lead.
- The Bearcats would take the lead after outscoring UNH 9-3 over the next four minutes, gaining a 20-16 advantage.
- Another big run for Binghamton stretched their lead to 30-19 coming off five consecutive field goals for the Bearcats.
- Binghamton closed out the final two minutes of the half with a 7-3 run, going into the locker room with a 37-23 lead.
SECOND HALF
- Baskets went back and forth to start the second half with Binghamtons' 14-point lead lasting until the 11:21 mark, leading 50-36.
- The Bearcats pulled away for their largest lead of the game with a 9-0 run over the next four minutes, building a 59-36 lead with just over seven minutes remaining in the game.
- The 'Cats couldn't chip away with both teams trading baskets late in the game, leading to a final score of 68-50.
NOTEWORTHY
- Junior Nick Johnson (Bronx, N.Y.) tallied his fifth consecutive game in double figures, the longest streak of his career and the longest active streak for a Wildcat.
- UNH falls to 28-22 all-time when they match up with Binghamton and fall to 15-10 on the road.
- Junior Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) tied a career-high with three blocks, matching his total from Dec. 3, 2022, at Columbia.
- This was Daniels' 11th game of the season with 8+ rebounds, the most such games since Jayden Martinez did so in the 2020-21 season.
- Daniels has now recorded a steal in 10 consecutive games for the Wildcats, tying Chandler Rhoads for the longest such streak since he achieved the feat during the 2012-13 season.
- 22 free throw attempts are the most the 'Cats have attempted in a single game this season, matching their most since March 3, 2022, at Binghamton.
- With his lone 3 pointer, Herasme has now scored from long range in 13 of the 14 games he's played this season.
