DURHAM, N.H – Freshman Tasmin Cookman (Woking, England) and classnate Nicole Poulakis (Ajax, Ontario) each posted two goals and one assist to lead the University of New Hampshire field hockey team to a 5-0 win on Friday afternoon versus Bryant University at Memorial Field.

Senior goalkeeper Jemma Woods (Frimley, England) recorded three saves against the Bulldogs to earn her first shutout of the season and fifth career. Bryant counterpart Dieneke Hes posted six saves.

The Wildcats improve to 4-6 (1-2 America East) and the Bulldogs fall to 4-7 (0-3 AE).

UP NEXT: The Wildcats return to action Sunday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Field against Dartmouth College.

FIRST QUARTER

At 1:25, Poulakis passed the ball to junior Lily Rothwell (Lynnfield, Mass.), who swept it into the bottom left of the cage to make it 1-0.
Then at 3:50, Poulakis took a shot from the right side of the field and hit it in the bottom left of the goal to make it 2-0. Graduate student Juliane Ohmen (Bremen, Germany) posted an assist.
UNH recorded a 6-0 shot advantage in the opening 15 minutes.

SECOND QUARTER

Freshman Tamera Cookm an (Woking, England) passed to twin sister Tasmin and she scored to make it 3-0 at 22:33.
At 28:58, Tasmin Cookman, who received a pass in front of the cage from junior Reagan Calcari (St. Louis, Mo.), fired a turnaround shot into the bottom left corner to make it 4-0 for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats outshot the Bulldogs in the second, 10-2, with five being on goal for UNH.

THIRD QUARTER

Poulakis maneuvered around Hes in front of the cage to score her second goal of the game and extend the lead to 5-0 at 40:42. Tasmin Cookman was on the assist.
UNH continued to outshoot Bryant, 5-0, in the third.

FOURTH QUARTER

Woods recorded a great save on a breakaway to help UNH finish their shutout.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

New Hampshire outshot Bryant 22-3 and recorded 11 shots on goal compared to the Bulldogs' three.
The Wildcats had three penalty corners against Bryant's one.

UNH NOTEBOOK

UNH head coach Robin Balducci, already the winningest coach in program history, recorded her 299^th career victory.
Poulakis finished with career highs in both goals (two) and points (five).
This was Cookman's second career multiple-goal game; she recorded personal bests of three goals and six points Aug. 28 vs. Boston U.
The assist marked Ohmen's first point as a Wildcat.
The last time UNH scored four goals in a half was against Merrimack College on Oct. 17, 2021 in the second half of a 6-2 win.
The last time UNH had a lead of four or more goals was also against Merrimack on March 3, 2021. The Cats' were up 6-0 at half and won by that score.
