Wildcats Announce Freshman Class

Eight freshmen have joined the program.
DURHAM, N.H. - University of New Hampshire head men's hockey coach Mike Souza has announced the freshman class for the 2022-23 season. Damien Carfagna (Wood-Ridge, N.J.), Jake Dunlap (Windham, N.H.), Cy LeClerc (Brentwood, N.H.), Tyler Muszelik (Long Valley, N.J.), Cade Penney (West Chester, Pa.), Stiven Sardarian (Saint Petersburg, Russia), Kristaps Skrastins (Grobina, Latvia) and Morgan Winters (Osprey, Fla.) have joined the program.
"Our staff is excited to work with and develop these eight incoming student-athletes," said Souza. "Each player brings a different skill set that we feel helps strengthen our program."

DAMIEN CARFAGNA
- Won the 2022 Clark Cup with the Sioux City Musketeers (USHL), playing in 21 regular season games with one goal and 10 assists for 11 points, while he recorded two assists for two points over 10 playoff games

- Appeared in 18 games with the Fargo Force (USHL) in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons with one goal and two assists for three points, while he played in 36 games with the Janesville Jets during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons posting eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points
- Totaled 20 goals and 29 assists for 49 points for New Hampton School in 2017-18 and 2018-19

- Two-year member of the Islanders Hockey Club (NCDC) as he recorded 33 goals and 53 assists for 86 points

- Graduated from Exeter High School in 2020 and was a member of the hockey team in 2016
TYLER MUSZELIK
- Selected in the sixth round with the 189th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft by the Florida Panthers

- Posted a record of 24-5-3 with a .900 save percentage and a 2.91 goals against average
- Won the silver medal at the 2022 Under-18 Men's World Championships as he went 2-0-0 with a .909 save percentage and a 2.50 goals against average
- Played in the 2022 BioSteel All-American Game
- Appeared in 23 games with the U.S. National Under-17 Team in 2020-21
- Played for the New Jersey Rockets (USPHL) during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons
- Graduated from Michigan International Prep School in 2022
CADE PENNEY
- Played in 36 games for the Surrey Eagles (BCHL) during the 2021-22 season with one goal and six assists for seven points
