No. 4 Seed 'Cats Sweep Top Seed Binghamton in America East Semifinals

Junior Hannah Serbousek amassed a match-high 13 kills with a .281 hitting percentage and 11 digs in the win
VESTAL, N.Y. – The No. 4 seeded University of New Hampshire volleyball team swept top seed Binghamton in the America East semifinals on Saturday afternoon at West Gym. The set scores were 30-28, 25-23 and 25-16.
The Wildcats improve to 19-9 overall with the victory, while the Bearcats end their season at 17-8. UNH is on a season-high five-match winning streak heading into the conference championship game. UNH is making their 11th appearance in the America East Championship Game and own a 7-3 all-time record in the finals.
UNH has won a league-record seven America East titles, most recently in 2016 when they defeated UAlbany. The 'Cats also won the league championship in 2015, 2014, 2013, 2003, 2002 and 1998.
Junior outside hitter Hannah Serbousek (Fort Collins, Colo.) amassed a match-high 13 kills with a .281 hitting percentage and 11 digs in the victory to pace the Wildcats offensively. She went a perfect 20-for-20 on serve receive in UNH's 19th win of the year.
Junior middle blocker Kelly Kaufmann (Raleigh, N.C.) amassed 12 kills with an impressive .524 hitting percentage and three total blocks. Junior right side Marisa Armer (Bradenton, Fla.) and freshman middle Kara Oxenknecht (Naperville, Ill.) each chipped in with eight kills apiece, hitting at a .294 and .412 clip, respectively.
Senior setter Wren Maculay (Lake Orion, Mich.) recorded 22 assists and the match-clinching service ace in the third frame.
Junior libero Mia Pagliarini (Springboro, Ohio) added a match-high 18 digs on defense, while freshman defensive specialist Avery LePore (Franklin, Tenn.) chipped in with nine digs.
The 'Cats extended their lead with a 25-23 victory in the second stanza. Serbousek led UNH with 10 kills through two frames.
