VESTAL, N.Y. -- The University of New Hampshire volleyball team fell to UMBC in the America East Championship Game on Sunday afternoon at West Gym on the campus of Binghamton University. The set scores were 25-22, 25-19 and 25-18.

The Wildcats end their season at 19-9 overall, while UMBC improves to 17-8 with an automatic berth into the NCAA tournament.

Freshman outside hitter Lindsey Kriendler (Houston, Texas) lead the 'Cats offense with a team-high 11 kills, while going a perfect 10-for-10 on serve receive.

Sophomore right side Marisa Armer (Bradenton, Fla.) chipped in with seven kills with a team-best .235 hitting percentage, while junior outside hitter Hannah Serbousek (Fort Collins, Colo.) managed six kills and a match-high 15 digs.

Junior middle blocker Kelly Kaufmann (Raleigh, N.C.) added five kills and four total blocks in the losing effort for UNH. Freshman middle Kara Oxenknecht (Naperville, Ill.) added four kills and six total blocks for the Wildcats. Kaufmann and Kriendler were named to the America East All-Championship Team for their efforts over the weekend, while Kaufmann also took home the Elite 18 Award for having the highest GPA (3.97) at the volleyball conference championship.

Junior libero Mia Pagliarini (Springboro, Ohio) totaled 10 digs on defense for the 'Cats.

Seniors Wren Macaulay (Lake Orion, Mich.) and Erin Hedrick (Montvale, N.J.) played in the final match of their collegiate careers with the 'Cats.

Mia Bilusic notched a match-high 12 kills for UMBC in the victory.

The 'Cats rallied from down 11-1 in the opening set and clawed all the way back to come within one point at 23-22 late in the first stanza.
