Marco Foster notches a career-high 24 points in the victory for the 'Cats
DURHAM, N.H. -- Sophomore guard Marco Foster (Chicago, Ill.) notched a career-high 24 points on 8-of-10 three-point shooting with six rebounds to lead the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team to a 92-54 victory against intrastate foe Keene State on Monday night at Lundholm Gymnasium in non-conference play.
UNH improves to 5-4 overall on the season, while the Owls drop to 8-3 overall on the season.
Senior forward Jayden Martinez (Cibolo, Texas) added 16 points in the win for the 'Cats on 6-of-10 shooting (4-5 3-pt FG), to go along with five rebounds. Sophomore guard Nick Johnson (Bronx, N.Y.) registered 14 points on 6-of-8 from the floor, while Sloan Seymour (Albany, N.Y.) and Blondeau Tchoukuiegno (Montreal, Quebec) posted 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Senior center Tayler Mattos (New London, N.H.) added seven points and 10 rebounds.
UNH owned a 42-31 lead at halftime and outscored the Owls, 50-23 in the second half.
Octavio Brito totaled a team-high 15 points in the losing effort for Keene State.
The 'Cats outrebounded the Owls, 49-29 for the game. UNH shot 55% from the field in the second half, which included an impressive 53% from the three-point arc.
The Wildcats return to action on Tuesday, November 21 at VCU. Game time is 7 p.m. from the Siegel Center on ESPN+.
