Wildcats earn 70-55 road victory at Holy Cross; Herrion earns 200th win at UNH

WORCESTER, Mass. -- Senior forward Jayden Martinez (Cibolo, Texas) notched his fourth 20-point effort of the season to lead the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team to a 70-55 road victory at Holy Cross on Saturday at the Hart Center.
With the win, the Wildcats improve to 3-2 overall, while the Crusaders drop to 2-5 overall with the loss. The win marked UNH head coach Bill Herrion's 200th career victory with Wildcats in his 17th season in Durham.
Martinez registered a game-high 20 points on 7-of-11 from the field with seven rebounds, while sophomore Nick Johnson (Bronx, N.Y.) amassed 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting and eight rebounds. Senior forward Nick Guadarrama (Newington, Conn.) totaled 10 points and six rebounds and Blondeau Tchoukuiegno (Montreal, Quebec) also chipped in with 10 points on 5-of-10 from the field with four rebounds and four assists in a solid all-around outing.
New Hampshire held a 31-19 lead headed into the locker room at the half, led by 11 points apiece from Martinez and Foster.
UNH went on a 13-0 run midway the second half to seal the victory for the Wildcats in a 5:19 span from 17:07 to 11:48 in the second stanza.
The 'Cats owned a 38-24 advantage on the glass and a decided 34-18 edge in points in the paint.
DaJoin Humphrey scored a team-high 13 points in the losing effort for the Crusaders.
UNH returns to action on Saturday, December 4 against Central Connecticut State. Game time is 4 p.m. from Lundholm Gym on ESPN+.
