Senior guard goes 3-for-3 from 3-point land and 4 of 4 from FT line
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Qon Murphy (Charlotte, N.C.) scored a season-high 15 points, including a perfect 3-for-3 from 3-point distance and 4-for-4 from the free throw line, but the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was defeated 69-58 by Providence College on Thursday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.
Blondeau Tchoukuiegno (Montreal, Quebec) equaled a career high with seven assists to go along with eight points and two rebounds, Nick Guadarrama (Newington, Conn.) scored nine of his 13 points in the second half and Nick Johnson (Bronx, N.Y.) chipped in with seven points and a team-leading seven rebounds for UNH (1-2, 0-0 America East).
Aljami Durham (game-high 19 points) and Nate Watson (17 points) combined to shoot 13-for-17 (76.4%), and Noah Horchler tallied a double-double (10 points, game-high 12 rebounds) to help Providence improve to 4-0 in non-conference action; UNH slips to 1-2.

•The Wildcats tied the score four times in the second half and took leads at 38-37 (17:01) and 40-39 (16:06) before the Friars went on a 12-0 run to take the lead for good.
•Providence led 30-27 lead at halftime.
•Murphy hit his first four field-goal attempts, including 3-for-3 from 3-point distance, to lead the Wildcat attack with 11 points (season high) at the intermission.
•Watson and Durham each had eight points for the Friars in the first half.
•UNH's only lead of the first half was 7-6 at the 14:21 mark; PC retaliated with a 14-2 spurt to open its largest lead, 20-9, with 9:45 to play.
•Murphy then scored his 11 first-half points during a 14-6 run to cut the Friars' lead to 26-23.
•UNH committed only one turnover in the opening half and forced five Providence turnovers.
