DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team, riding its longest winning streak of the season, hosts the University of Maine Black Bears on Wednesday, February 26 at 6 P.M. for the final meeting between the two teams this regular season.
The Wildcats are coming off a comeback win on senior day against UAlbany, while the Black Bears just handed Stony Brook its first conference loss of the season on Maine's senior day. The game will be the 15th matchup between Maine and New Hampshire in this year's Border Battle, sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings. UNH currently leads the 2019-2020 series, 8-6.
New Hampshire currently sits in fifth place in the America East conference standings and awaits its final playoff seeding after the week's results from Wednesday and Saturday. LAST TIME OUT:
- Seniors Maggie Ahearn (Marshfield, Mass.), Caroline Soucy (Beverly, Mass.) and Ashley Storey (Cumberland, Maine) all scored in double digits to lead the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team to a 56-53 Senior Day victory against UAlbany at Lundholm Gym.
- Soucy and Storey netted 11 points apiece and Ahearn scored 10. Soucy also tallied three rebounds and three steals, while Storey finished with four rebounds and four assists. Ahearn added four rebounds, a steal and a block.
- Amanda Torres (Hudson, N.H.) scored 11 points and hit two free throws with 2.7 seconds left in the game to seal the win. Her other stats included four rebounds, four steals, an assist and one block.
- UNH completed the season series sweep of the Great Danes to extend its winning streak to three games, improve to 10-16 overall and 7-7 in America East. UAlbany is now 9-18, 5-9.

ABOUT MAINE:
- The Black Bears (Orono, Maine) enter the final week of the regular season on a six game win streak, moving up to second place in the conference with a 10-4 conference record, 14-14 overall.
- Maine had last Wednesday off from action, but handed Stony Brook its first conference loss by way of a 64-62 overtime home win.
- The Black Bears wrap up the regular season with two road games, traveling to UMBC this Saturday, February 29.
- Maine is without its pre-season all-conference senior guard Blanca Millan, lost to season-ending injury at the end of November.
- The scoring has been picked up by defending player of the week Maddy McVicar, who tallied 28 points in the overtime victory over Stony Brook. She averages 10.0 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game.
