Wildcat women's alpine team takes second in giant slalom
HANCOCK, Mass. & LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Lisa Olsson (Stockholm, Sweden) raced to a second-place finish in women's giant slalom to pace three Wildcat women's alpine skiers in the Top-11 and a runner-up team result in that race to highlight Friday's Williams Carnival action for the University of New Hampshire ski team.
Rachel Nawrocki (New Castle, N.H.) crossed the finish line in ninth and Brianna Macdonald (Toronto, Ontario) placed 11th at Jiminy Peak.
With 348 points, UNH trails Middlebury (450 points), Vermont (400) and Dartmouth (369).
Patrick Kenney (Hingham, Mass. / seventh place), Will Bruneau-Bouchard (Quebec City, Quebec / 11th) and Crowley Gentile (Greenland, N.H. / 12th) propelled the men's alpine team to third place in the GS.
At Mount van Hoevenberg, Scott Schulz (Lake Placid, N.Y.) took 10th place in the men's 10K classic and Lucinda Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) took 16th place finish in the women's 10K classic to highlight the Wildcat Nordic team results.
