The Matchup
UNH plays host to eighth-ranked Boston University for a pair of non-league games Dec. 4-5 at the Whittemore Center. UNH opened the 2020-21 season Nov. 20-21 with a home-and-home series against Boston College, then the Thanksgiving weekend two-game set vs. Holy Cross was cancelled. BU opted out of the first two weekends and was originally scheduled to open this weekend at Maine.
Early-Season Stats
Through two games, UNH is averaging 1.50 goals on 24.5 shots per game while allowing 5.0 goals and 34.0 shots per game. The Wildcats power play has not scored a goal (one shorthanded goal allowed) in six opportunities, and the penalty kill is 3-for-4 (75%).
Three 'Cats have scored one goal and five skaters have one assist apiece; the only Wildcat with both one goal and one assist is sophomore forward Tamara Thiérus. Do the math, and six skaters have one point apiece.
Ava Boutilier is the only UNH goaltender to see game action so far this season. She recorded 29 saves and allowed four goals in both games vs. Boston College for a 4.04 GAA and .879 GAA.

New Hampshire has a 22-30-5 lifetime record against Boston University. BU has won the season series spanning the 2007-08 through 2019-20 seasons, and that includes 2-1-0 last year. The Wildcats skated to a 4-2 home win Oct. 12, 2019, but BU responded with back-to-back shutout wins Feb. 15 (1-0 in Durham) and Feb. 16 (2-0 in Boston).
