DURHAM, N.H. – Junior Jacob Gould (Exeter, N.H.) netted the double overtime game-winning goal as the No. 18 University of New Hampshire men's soccer team defeated Marist, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium. The goal was Gould's first of the season.
The Wildcats remain undefeated, improving to 5-0-2 overall, while the Red Foxes fall to 2-4-0 overall. UNH is 23-1-3 all-time at Wildcat Stadium. The Wildcats have outscored their opponents 48-10 over the 27 games played at the stadium.

In the sixth minute (5:34), senior Antonio Colacci ((Bradenton, Fla.) capitalized on a penalty kick and rifled the ball to the lower left corner to give the Wildcats the lead 1-0.
Marist's Allen Gavilanes released a low shot in the 31st minute which graduate student Alejandro Robles (Monterey, Mexico) knocked out of harm's way.
In the 41st minute, the Wildcats almost took a 2-0 lead when senior Jack Doherty (Meriden, N.H.) just missed the back of the net from eight yards out with a lower left side shot.
The Red Foxes tied the game at 1-1 in the 47th minute (46:46), when off a rebound Justin Jaime rifled a one timer form 18 yards out to the back of the net.

Colacci sent a corner kick into the Red Foxes' box in the 58th minute, which junior Josh Bauer (Bedford, N.H.) headed to the ground as it bounced up over the net.
In 69th minute, junior Jonny Wolf (Hopkinton, Mass.) sent a pass to junior Lukas Rubio (Liverpool, N.Y.) who dribbled into the box and let a shot fly low right which was saved and cleared away by Ilin.
A flurry of shots in the 83rd minute by the Wildcats, could not sail past Ilin as the game remained tied.
In the 89th minute, senior Alan Kehoe (Dublin, Ireland) drove a pass across the width of the field to Wolf who headed the ball and was saved high by Ilin.
Neither team was able to score the game winner in regulation, as the game headed to overtime.
In the 95th minute, from five yards out, Jaime was open in front of the net and cracked the ball towards Robles, who saved it by deflecting off his body, keeping the game tied 1-1.
In the 106th minute (105:57), Wolf sent a perfect cross to junior Jacob Gould (Exeter, N.H.) who was in position to send the ball into the left corner of the net past Ilin, earning the game winning-goal and giving the Wildcats the 2-1 win. Graduate student James Thomas (Woking, England) also recorded an assist on the goal.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
UNH outshot Marist, 19-7, while the Wildcats posted seven shots on goal and Marist recorded six.
The 'Cats took 10 corner kicks, while the Red Foxes took six.
Robles finished the game with five saves to improve to 5-0-2, and Ilin also finished with five saves and is now 2-4-0.

The assist by Thomas was his first career point as a Wildcat.
