DURHAM, N.H. – Graduate student Fabian Lutz (Bad Gröenenbach, Germany) netted the game-winning goal in the second half as the No. 18 University of New Hampshire men's soccer team defeated Dartmouth, 1-0, in a Granite State showdown on Wednesday night at Wildcat Stadium. Freshman Bilal Kamal (London, England) and junior Josh Bauer (Bedford, N.H) assisted on the game winner. Lutz, who is the reigning America East Offensive Player of the Week, has three goals over the last two games.
The Wildcats remain undefeated on the season, improving to 4-0-2 overall, while the Big Green fall to 2-2-0 overall. UNH is 22-1-3 all-time at Wildcat Stadium. Lutz fired the first shot on goal in the 15th minute to the lower right hand corner from 30 yards out, that was saved by Dartmouth goalkeeper Alex Budnik.
In the 25th minute, Bauer lofted a header from 10 yards out to the center of the goal that was saved by Budnik.
Kamal then drilled a shot to the low center of the goal in the 26th minute from 14 yards out that was also saved by Budnik to keep the game scoreless.
The Wildcats outshot the Big Green 7-1 in the first half, while the 'Cats had three shots on goal.
With the game still tied at 0-0, Lutz slammed a shot from 18 yards out that was directed at the lower left corner, but it went wide in the 61st minute.

Lutz then scored the game-winner at 68:08, when he ripped a shot from 12 yards out to the lower left corner of the goal off a pass from Kamal. Bauer also recorded an assist on the goal.
In the 73rd minute senior Chris Arling (Windham, N.H) launched a one timer from 10 yards to the high center of the goal, which was saved by Budnik to maintain the score at 1-0.
The Big Green look to tie the game but graduate student Alejandro Robles (Monterey, Mexico) leaped to save a shot going to the upper left corner from Tiger Graham in the 76th minute.
During the 85th minute, Dartmouth's Braden Salvati received a red card as the Big Green played with 10 men for the remainder of the game.
The Wildcats kept the Big Green off the scoreboard for the 1-0 final.

UNH outshot Dartmouth, 16-3, while the Wildcats posted eight shots on goal and the Big Green recorded one.
The 'Cats took 10 corner kicks, while the Big Green took two.
Robles finished the game with one save to post his third shutout of the season and improve to 4-0-2, and Budnik finished with seven saves and is now 2-2-0.

Lutz has posted three goals in the past two games. He leads the team with eight points on three goals and a team-best two assists on the season.
Kamal now has two assists on the season. He also has one goal for four points.
Bauer has a team-best three assists on the season.
This is the third straight time the Wildcats have shut out the Big Green.
UNH has four shutouts on the season and have outscored its opposition by a 10-3 margin.
