‘Cats Host CCSU in Final 2019 Home Game

New Hampshire plays its final home game of the calendar year.

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team gets set for its final home game of the 2019 calendar year as the Wildcats welcome the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils to Lundholm Gymnasium this Sunday, December 8.
The Wildcats are coming off a tough two-point loss to UMass this past Thursday, which saw UNH cut a 19-point deficit down to just one point in the final minute of the game. CCSU just played fellow America East foe UMass Lowell, losing at the buzzer by a score of 56-54.
Sunday's game features a post-game autograph session for AAU day; the Wildcats will then travel for the rest of the month of December before returning home for conference play on Sunday, January 5. DELARUELLE HONORED
For her performance against NDSU, freshman guard Héléna Delaruelle was named the America East Rookie of the Week; it was UNH's first weekly award of the season and all six of UNH's weekly awards last season were also Rookie of the Week honors. Delaruelle posted a 10-point, five-rebound, five-assist performance against the Bison.

LAST TIME OUT:
- New Hampshire faced off with UMass for the first time in 10 years last Thursday evening; after trailing by as much as 19 points, the Wildcats surged in the fourth quarter to cut the Minutewomen's lead to just one point, before falling by a score of 67-65.
- Senior Ashley Storey (Cumberland, Maine) led the way offensively for the Wildcats in the second half; she finished the game with 23 points on 9-19 shooting, 2-2 from behind the arc, and a team-high six rebounds. Storey also dished two assists, had three steals, and blocked two shots.
- Junior Amanda Torres (Hudson, N.H.) finished in double figures with 12 points, going 6-7 from the free throw line; 11 of her 12 points came in the second half.
- The freshman duo of Héléna Delaruelle (Enghien-les-Bains, France) and Lexi Greffen (Portsmouth, R.I.) each tallied eight points and three rebounds in the contest, giving the Wildcats a spark as they were down late in the game. Delaruelle tallied a career-high 11 assists in the contest.

- The Blue Devils (New Britain, Conn.) come into Sunday's matchup seeking their first win of the season.
- This will be CCSU's third straight America East opponent in UNH; the Blue Devils hosted UAlbany and UMass Lowell last Sunday and Thursday.
- UNH holds a slight advantage in the all-time series with CCSU, leading 14-12. The Blue Devils took last year's matchup by a score of 56-47 in New Britain.
- The two teams have met in 11 of the last 13 seasons, with CCSU leading 8-3.
