Five different Wildcats tally goals in road win.
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Five members of the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team tallied goals on Friday evening as the Wildcats took down the Merrimack College Warriors 5-0 at Lawler Rink.
The Wildcats were led by senior Meghara McManus (Milton, Mass.) who scored her team-leading ninth and 10th goals of the season, along with one assist on the evening. Two other Wildcats, junior Ellie Sasaki (Markham, Ontario) and sophomore Lauren Martin (Cambridge, Ontario) tallied two points each on the night; Sasaki netted a goal and added an assist, while Martin assisted on two straight goals.
In net, redshirt sophomore Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) stopped all 24 shots faced for her fourth shutout of the season, the fifth of her career. Her record on the season improves to 8-6-1.
The two teams are slated to face off in game two this Saturday, December 7 at the Whittemore Center Arena in Durham, N.H. with a 3 P.M. puck drop.

GAME RECAP
- The Wildcats got out to an early lead with two goals in the span of two minutes. 9:01 into the first period Carlee Turner (Scottsdale, Ariz.) got the scoring started with assists going to Grace Middleton (Midland, Mich.) and Meghara McManus. Just one minute and 58 seconds later, freshman Rae Breton (Brighton, Ontario) notched her first career goal with assists from Ellie Sasaki and Taylor Wenczkowski (Rochester, N.H.).
- New Hampshire tallied three goals in the second period, the first of which came 6:44 into the period as McManus notched her first tally, with a diving shot in the crease after the puck was sent in by Maddie Truax (Gardner, Mass.) for the 3-0 lead.
- 15:14 into the period Lauren Martin began her two-goal streak of primary assists, as she assisted Talli Warren (Mundleville, New Brunswick) for her second goal of the season. Lauren then assisted Sasaki as the second period wrapped up for a 5-0 lead at the second intermission.
- UNH's final goal came in the middle of the third period as McManus tallied her second of the evening, assisted by Tori Howran (Bancroft, Ontario) 11:13 into the third.
