DURHAM, N.H. – Jayden Martinez (Cibolo, Texas) recorded a double-double Wednesday night to lead the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team to a 91-37 victory against Maine Maritime Academy at Lundholm Gym.

Martinez finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds, both of which were game highs, as well as a career-high four blocked shots. Josh Hopkins (Greensboro, N.C.) also netted 17 points. Marque Maultsby (Raleigh, N.C.) finished with 15 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals; both the point and steal totals matched his career highs.

UNH improved to 5-4 overall by remaining unbeaten (4-0) at Lundholm Gym. This was an exhibition game for the Mariners (2-2).

New Hampshire returns to action Dec. 7 (5 p.m.) at Quinnipiac University. The game is on ESPN+.
UNH's next home game is Monday, Dec. 30 (2 p.m.) against intrastate rival Dartmouth College.

FIRST HALF

UNH scored first – almost a minute into the game – and never trailed. MMA tied the score at 2, but the Wildcats netted the next eight points to build a 10-2 advantage at 16:47.
After 10 minutes, Martinez, Hopkins and Maultsby had 19 out of the Wildcats' 33 points with UNH leading by 26 points.
In the first half, Nick Guadarrama (Newington, Conn.) had the most points with 14, including four 3-pointers.
After the first half, the Wildcats led 52-17.

SECOND HALF

UNH outscored the guests 15-11 in the opening eight minutes to inch ahead 67-28.
With four minutes remaining, the 'Cats made the score extended their lead to 50 points, 83-53.
The Wildcats led by as many as 55 points, 91-36, in the last minute.

SERIES NOTEBOOK

This marked the first ever matchup between the UNH and Maine Maritime men's basketball programs.

Maultsby netted 15 points on 7 of 10 shooting from the floor (1-for-3 on 3-pointers).
Guadarrama finished with 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists. He made 6 of 8 field goals, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range.
Hopkins made 5 of 10 FGs, including a pair of 3's, and was a perfect 5-for-5 at the foul line.
Meekness Payne (Phoenix, Ariz.) matched his personal best of eight rebounds; he also scored seven points.
Luke Rosinski (Concord, N.H.) tallied nine points and eight rebounds.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

New Hampshire went 13-17 (76.5%) at the free throw line while Maine Maritime went 4-8 (50%).
UNH had a 49-22 rebounding advantage with a 15-2 edge on the offensive glass, which led to a 22-1 difference in second-chance points.
This marked the second time this season the Wildcats topped 90 points; they scored 93 in the season opener against Curry College.
