Guadarrama, Soucy Named Student Athlete Spotlight Winners

DURHAM, N.H.- Â Sophomore forward Nick Guadarrama (Newington, Conn.) of the men's basketball team and senior guard Caroline Soucy (Beverly, Mass.) of the women's basketball team have both received this week's Service Credit Union Student-Athlete Spotlight honors for competition from Nov. 4- Nov. 11.

Guadarrama played a large part in the Wildcats' two wins last week, where he managed to get his second and third double-doubles of his career in those two games. Against Curry College on Nov. 5, he put up 20 points in 28 minutes along with a career high 18 rebounds. In that game he shot 7-8 from the field, going 2-2 behind the three-point arc. Then in a close game against Holy Cross on Nov. 9, the sophomore tallied a career high 28 points on 11-14 from the field in 38 minutes of play. He also grabbed 13 rebounds, gave three assists, and obtained three steals in that game. On top of all that, Guadarrama also earned the College Sports Madness America East Player of the Week award.

Soucy led the Wildcats to their first win of the season against Bryant on Nov. 12. In that game, the senior scored a career-high 19 points on 7-15 from the field, while adding on 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block and a steal in 32 minutes of play. While shooting 7-15 from the field, Soucy made a team high and career high of 5 three pointers in that game. That is the most three pointers made in a game for the Wildcats since 2018.
